Lives in Belgrade
Vuk Ćuk is gravitating towards creating his own unique, authentic aesthetic systems, in this exhibition but also throughout his entire career. His artistic approach finds its grounding in the ambivalence positioned between the outer and the inner world, which inspire him at the same time, and in this way articulate his emotions. Actively participating in the world of modern technologies, Vuk finds his inspirations in the products of new media, while also using the available contemporary techniques of realization.
Andjela Rokvić, an excerpt from Aesthetic Systems
Vuk Ćuk studied painting at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade and the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. In his art career, he has participated in more than 30 group exhibitions at galleries and museums in Serbia, Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Denmark, Germany, Russia, China and USA, and has had seven one-man exhibitions in Belgrade, Vienna, Copenhagen and Augustenburg (Denmark). He has presented his work at the most prestigious art fairs in Europe (ArtVienna, ArtMoscow, ArtCopenhagen…) and, together with 10 other foreign artists, made the art book Endless Editions: Face to Face – Blind Date, which is part of the MoMA Library Collection, New York.
In his work he researches the relation of man to the contemporary way of life, with an emphasis on the influence of the development of digital media, technologies and communication. He expresses himself through painting, sculpture, and digital arts (VR, animation).
